Ayati ("My Verses" in Arabic) is a Quran memorization companion app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and web service at app.ayati.org.
Summary: We only collect what's necessary to provide the service. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

Account Information
Name — used to personalize your experience
Email address — used for authentication and account recovery
Password — stored securely using bcrypt hashing (we never store or see your plain password)
App Usage Data
Review sessions — timestamps, error counts, and duration of your Quran review sessions
Card progress — which Hizb/Rubuu you are memorizing and your progress level (L1-L6)
Settings and preferences — daily goals, working days, and pipe configuration
What We Do NOT Collect
Location data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Contacts, photos, or files
Financial or payment information
Analytics or tracking data from third-party SDKs
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
Provide and maintain the Ayati service
Authenticate your account and keep it secure
Track your Quran memorization progress across devices
Calculate review schedules using the Pipes Algorithm
Display your statistics and forecasts
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text
Access to the database is restricted and protected by authentication
We perform daily encrypted backups of the database
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. Your data is only used to provide the Ayati service to you.
We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time:
Go to Settings in the app
Scroll to the bottom and click "Delete My Account"
Confirm the deletion
When you delete your account, your profile and personal data are marked for deletion. We may retain anonymized, non-personal data for service improvement purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
Ayati is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

You have the right to:
Access your personal data (visible in your profile and settings)
Update your personal data (via the settings page)
Delete your account and all associated data (via the settings page)
